Spicy Beer and Honey Chicken Wings

ChickenWings

I was trying to successfully make something like this for a couple of times and finally got something good.

Ingredients:

  • 15 to 18 chicken wings
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • Ginger
  • Sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds
  • Rice vinegar
  • Chili ( I used some dry ones and some flakes)
  • Beer
  • Honey
  • Chive
  • Salt

  1. For the marinade:
    1. Crush 3 garlic cloves, an 1*1*2cm piece of garlic, the chili and a tablespoon of sesame seeds.
    2. Mix it with 3 tablespoons of sesame oil, 3 tablespoons of rice vinegar and a teaspoon of salt.
  2. Cut the chicken wings on the articulations and add it into the marinade.
  3. Marinate it over night (I actually marinated it for 2 days) in the fridge.
  4. Preheat the oven at 250°C (480°F) with the grill option.
  5. Prepare the glazing mixture:
    1. In a pot, add 3 tablespoons of beer, 3 tablespoons of honey, the juice of a 1cm dice of ginger, a crush clove of garlic, some chili, a pinch of salt and a dash of sesame oil.
    2. Bring it to a boil while mixing and reduce the heat to just simmer it.
  6. Place the chicken wings on a oven grid and cook it on the first side until it begins to be golden brown.
  7. Dip the chicken wings in the glazing mixture and put them back on the grid on the other side.
  8. Cook it until the second side is golden brown and caramelised.
  9. Finally top it with some sliced chives and with sesame seeds.

Bon appétit!

PS: Actually if they cool down a little bit it is even better!
